PHOTOS Rose’s is closing in Weaverville, and it’s a discount shopper’s dream

The Rose’s store in Weaverville is closing, and it’s a dream for discount shoppers, as well as Christmas shoppers looking to get a jump. Forget about Black Friday deals. At Rose’s, shoppers will find sheets and towels for as low as $1, panties for $2 and cookware for $5. Toys and decorations are in the $10 range.

The store closes in January, but the sale is on and the store was still fairly well-stocked as of Tuesday afternoon. It won’t be like that for long.

Publix plans to take over the location at 165 Weaver Boulevard next year and open a new grocery store there. Discount shoppers needn’t worry – there’s a Big Lots just a few doors down in the same shopping center.

Rose’s has had a presence in Weaverville for decades. My sister worked at Rose’s when it was open on Merrimon Avenue, where Steinmart is now, I believe.

Anyway, a few photos for you.
